mindy kailingMulti-talented actress, writer, producer and comedienne Mindy Kaling already has plenty of “projects” to keep track of, but Throwin’ Up Celebs managed to catch The Office alum in between gigs when she recently stopped to chat with fans and photographers in Hollywood.

Kaling’s FOX comedy The Mindy Project is launching its second season on September 17, and during July’s TCA press tour the show’s eponymous creator discussed a covetable list of guest stars slated to appear. James Franco will play former model Dr. Paul Leotard, a professional nemesis of Kaling’s neurotic OB-GYN Dr. Mindy Lahiri who fills in while she’s in Haiti. Also expect Happy Endings co-star Adam Pally to show up as what Kaling called “a well-educated frat guy,” and former Mr. Kim Kardashian himself Kris Humphries likely didn’t have to work his acting chops too hard while portraying himself in a much-publicized cameo.

Justified’s Timothy Olyphant is the newest addition to the impressive lineup, and his role will serve as a potential love interest for Kaling’s romantically challenged workaholic. According to the Los Angeles Times, Olyphant will play Graham Logan, “a wild, professional skateboarder in his mid-40s who nearly runs Mindy over in Union Square before asking her out on a date.” The part might sound like quite the departure from deputy U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens, but considering Olyphant’s former turn on The Office as rival paper salesman Danny Cordray, it’s likely he and Kaling have already had time to build an on-set camaraderie.

Recently departed SNL cast member Bill Hader has also been confirmed to return as Mindy’s ex-boyfriend, along with Chloe Sevigny as the ex-wife of Chris Messina’s leading man Danny. Despite a revolving door of such high-profile personalities appearing on her show, Kaling herself has managed to squeeze in a few side appearances of her own, including a cheeky turn as herself in the hit comedy This is the End and a guest judging spot on Top Chef Masters. All that’s missing from her roster is a dramatic turn on Justified to bring things full circle, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves. One project at a time, right?

The second season of The Mindy Project premieres Tuesday, September 17 at 9:30/8:30c on FOX
